Real findings, not recycled SEO advice.
Most SEO writing online is the same handful of tips reworded endlessly, usually by someone who hasn't run the audit they're describing. We'd rather write less often and only about things we've actually tested — what AI tools genuinely do with a website, what moves visibility, and what turns out not to matter at all.
Everything here is measured against the same 1.5k+ audited sites. The pictures on these cards are drawn for each post, not stock art.
Your robots.txt Says Yes, but Your Server Says No: Why AI Crawlers Get Blocked
A robots.txt file can welcome AI crawlers while your server quietly turns them away. What 1.5k+ audits show about these hidden blocks, and how to check your own site in five minutes.
SEO vs GEO: How Search Is Changing for Businesses
People now find businesses two ways: by searching Google and by asking AI tools. What SEO and GEO each mean, how they work together, and what is worth doing now.
I Audited 1,500+ Websites: The 21 SEO Mistakes I See Most Often
Every number here comes from crawling 1.5k+ real business websites. The 21 problems that kept repeating, what each one actually costs, and the order I would fix them in.
Why GEO Matters
GEO isn't a buzzword — it's whether AI tools recommend your business at all. Why that's different from regular SEO, and what to actually do about it.
What gets written here
Things we have actually tested. If we try a change on a site and it moves something, that is worth writing up. If we try it and nothing happens, that is worth writing up too, and it is the half almost nobody publishes.
The subjects that keep coming up: how AI tools decide which businesses to name, why a site can be technically perfect and still invisible, what local search actually rewards now, and which bits of standard SEO advice have quietly stopped being true.
There is no schedule. A post goes up when there is something real to say, which is why there are not many of them. Writing to fill a calendar is how you end up with the recycled advice this page exists to avoid.
Find out what AI says about you.
Send us your web address. We run our own tool on it, free, and send you what it says. The whole thing — not a taster with the useful bits taken out.
Whether AI can even read your site
ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google and Bing all send a small program to read your pages. We knock on your door as each one and see who gets let in. If they are being turned away, nothing else matters until that is fixed.
Two scores out of 100 — one for Google, one for AI
Plus what is behind each number. Where we could only make a fair guess, we say so instead of dressing it up as a measurement.
A list of fixes, best one first
Ordered by what gives you the most for the least work, so the top of the list is the quickest win. It is yours either way — use it with us or without us.
We ran it on our own site too. It told us what we were getting wrong, and we published that. A tool you will not point at yourself is not worth much.
One thing the free check does not do: actually ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini for businesses like yours, dozens of times, and count how often your name comes up. That costs us real money each time we run it, so it comes with paid work.
